The free samples in my TpT store for elementary aged students are all free samples of larger resources. I do like to include however, enough of a resource that you can get one lesson out of it. Sometimes teachers just need a quick, easy lesson that is free to help them fill some time. There are plenty of teachers out there though that are searching for new resources to add to their teaching.
Hopefully, if you like the resource, you can find place for the full paid resource.
Best for upper elementary grades, this resource combines math skills with history curriculum. Math problems include four-digit subtraction, timeline ordering, younger than/older than (a variation of less than/greater than), and coordinate grid work.
The free sample includes work from Volume 1 which focuses on American colonial history and volume 2 which focuses on the American Revolution.
History has its own set of skills that students need to master in order to be successful in the later years but too few elementary teachers even know what the skills are. This free sample gives you one weeks worth of history skill builders. Skills include a timeline, chronology, periodization, historical sources, data, and vocabulary.
These skill builders can be added to a morning work packet. You can also have a social studies center activity where students will work on the separate skills at different tables. Each time they rotate they switch to a new skill. This would also work for a substitute.
Not a history resource. One of my favorites though. This resource was inspired by my son not being able to describe trees. Other than brown he didn’t know what words to use or why he should be able to. Students need to know how to describe much more than feelings or emotions (a lot of resources on TpT for that).
This freebie includes two different geographic biomes, the arctic and a sandy beach. The full resource includes fifteen different biomes and would be a great addition to writing workshops, writing centers, and of course when you discuss different biomes.
